What is Vastefy AI Virtual Try-On?
Vastefy is an AI-powered virtual fitting room for your Shopify store. Shoppers upload a photo directly on your product pages to preview how clothes fit their body, boosting buyer confidence and reducing return rates.
How do I enable the Try-On button on my store?
1. Go to the 'Widget Settings' tab in the app dashboard.
2. Click 'Enable in Theme Editor'.
3. In your Shopify Theme Editor, ensure the 'AI Try-On Core' app embed is toggled ON.
4. Click 'Save' in the top right of the Theme Editor.
Will this app slow down my storefront?
No. The integration loads asynchronously as a native Shopify Online Store 2.0 Theme App Extension with zero blocking scripts. Shopper photos are also compressed in-browser before upload to keep page speeds fast.
What garments and apparel are supported?
Vastefy supports upper wear (tops, shirts, blouses), lower wear (pants, skirts, shorts), full dresses, and outerwear across all standard apparel categories.
How does the Free plan quota work?
The Free plan provides 20 try-ons per 30-day cycle, anchored to the date you first installed the app. Your free allowance automatically refreshes every 30 days. You can check your next refresh date anytime in the Plans & Billing tab.
How do paid plan monthly quotas work?
Active paid plans provide their full credit allowance on a standard calendar-month basis (refreshing on the 1st of each month). If you upgrade mid-month, your quota resets immediately so you can start using your higher limit right away.
What happens if I run out of try-on credits?
On the Free plan, the widget pauses automatically once your 20 credits are consumed until your next cycle resets or you upgrade. On a paid plan, if you enable an approved spending limit, the widget uses overage credits at a small per-try-on rate so high traffic isn't interrupted. Once the spending limit is reached, it pauses safely to prevent unexpected bills.
What happens if I uninstall and reinstall the app?
If you are on a paid plan, your remaining credits and plan duration for that paid billing period are preserved when you reinstall. If you are on the Free plan, reinstalling within the same 30-day window does not grant extra credits, protecting against quota abuse.
Can I downgrade from a paid plan to the Free plan?
Yes. You can select the Free plan anytime under 'Plans & Billing' to clear your paid tier. Please ensure you also cancel the recurring charge inside your Shopify Admin subscriptions to prevent future renewals.
Why does my Widget Status say 'Paused'?
The widget pauses for two reasons: you have exhausted your plan's monthly try-on allowance (or hit your approved overage spending cap), or your subscription payment is pending/frozen. You can resume it anytime by upgrading your plan or adjusting your spending limit in the Plans & Billing tab.
How do overage charges and spending limits work?
Paid plans include a set monthly quota. If shoppers exceed that quota, the app provides extra try-ons at a small per-try-on rate, but only up to a maximum 'Spending Limit' that you pre-approve. This guarantees your widget stays online during traffic spikes without ever billing you more than you authorized.
How do I upgrade my plan?
1. Navigate to the 'Plans & Billing' tab.
2. Review the available tiers (Spark, Ignite and Growth).
3. Click 'Choose Plan' on the tier that fits your store's traffic.
4. You will be redirected to Shopify to securely approve the subscription.
If I upgrade mid-month, what happens to my quota?
When you successfully upgrade to a paid plan, your monthly try-on usage tracker resets immediately. You get a completely fresh start with your new, higher try-on limit for the new billing cycle.
How do I increase my spending limit to prevent the widget from pausing?
1. When you get close to your limit, a red warning banner will appear in your dashboard.
2. Click the 'Increase Spending Limit' button on the banner.
3. You will be prompted by Shopify to approve the new cap. Once approved, the widget continues running seamlessly.
How can I customize the button design and placement?
Open the 'Widget Settings' tab. You can adjust your brand accent color, customize the button text, choose light/dark/auto themes, and position the button either inline near your Add to Cart button or as a floating badge.
Can I change exactly where the Try-On button appears?
Yes! In Widget Settings under 'Button Position', you can choose floating options (Bottom Right, Bottom Left, Bottom Center) or have it inject natively near your standard Add to Cart button.
Does the Try-On button match my store's light or dark mode?
Yes. By default, the Theme Mode is set to 'Auto', which automatically detects and matches your store's color scheme. You can also manually force it to 'Light' or 'Dark' mode in the Widget Settings.
Can I hide the Try-On button on specific items or non-clothing collections?
Yes. Go to the 'Exclusions' tab to search and add specific products, collections, or product types (e.g., jewelry, footwear, accessories). The button will automatically hide on those pages.
How do exclusions work for collections or categories?
If you add a specific Collection or Category (Product Type) to your Exclusions list, the Try-On button will be hidden for every single product that belongs to that collection or category.
Is there a limit to how many products I can exclude?
Yes, you can exclude a combined total of up to 500 items (products, collections, and categories) per store.
Are customer photos stored or kept?
No. Shopper photos are processed securely in real-time to generate the virtual try-on result and are never stored or repurposed. Customer privacy is strictly protected.
What happens after a customer generates a try-on?
The shopper sees a side-by-side comparison of your product image and their AI-generated try-on result. From there, they can click the configured Post Try-On Action button, which you can set to 'Add to Cart', 'Buy Now', or directly to 'Checkout'.
How do shoppers use the Try-On feature?
1. The shopper clicks the Try-On button on your product page.
2. They select the specific product variant image they want to try.
3. They click 'Upload Image' or 'Snap Photo' to provide a picture of themselves.
4. They click 'Generate AI Try-On' and wait a few seconds for the result.
What are the photo requirements for the best AI fit?
For the most accurate results, shoppers should upload a clear, front-facing, full-body photo. The widget handles all image resizing and optimization automatically behind the scenes.
Can the app handle product variants (like different colors)?
Yes. When a shopper opens the try-on modal, they are presented with a 'Select Product Variant Image' gallery. They can pick the exact color or style image they want to try on before uploading their photo.
Can shoppers zoom in on the try-on results?
Absolutely. Once the try-on image is generated, the shopper can use the on-screen controls to zoom in, zoom out, reset the view, or open the image in full screen to check the fit details.
Can shoppers search for products using the widget?
Yes! The widget features a 'Smart AI Search' capability. Shoppers can search your catalog by typing a description, a style, or even by uploading an inspiration image to find matching products in your store.
What analytics can I track in my dashboard?
The 'Detailed Analytics' tab tracks try-on open clicks, total completions, conversion trends, and a 'Top Preferred Products' table showing which apparel items your visitors try on most.
What is the 'Engagement Velocity' metric?
Engagement Velocity is a quick indicator (ranging from 'Warming Up' to 'Blazing') on your analytics dashboard. It measures how rapidly shoppers are interacting with your catalog and generating try-ons over your selected timeframe.
Why isn't the Try-On button appearing on my product pages?
Check the following:
- The Master Switch is enabled in Widget Settings.
- The 'AI Try-On Core' app embed is toggled ON and saved in your Shopify Theme Editor.
- The product, its collection, or its product type is not listed in your Exclusions tab.
- Your store has not exceeded its monthly credit quota.
Is there a way to temporarily disable the widget without uninstalling?
Yes.
1. Go to the 'Widget Settings' tab.
2. Uncheck the 'Enable Virtual Try-On Widget (Master On/Off)' box.
3. Click 'Save Settings'. The button will immediately disappear from your storefront until you turn it back on.
